Dear Reader,

Welcome, my name is AKSuited.  I am proud to say I run Royal Flush Asia, Your Poker Centre for Asia and the Asia Pacific. At Royal Flush Asia, you can also find updates on Asian Poker Tour (APT) and Asia Pacific Poker Tours.

This page, 'About Us', interestingly represents one of the top few pages read by all of you, even though it is slotted in the bottom of the index page!

Many of you seem interested to know who exactly we are here and what our aims and aspirations are.

So I thought I should sit down to have a good crack at writing about myself and Royal Flush Asia.  This was also an opportunity to build on my very brief message to all of you a week or two ago, welcoming you all to the soft-launch of the redesigned RFA website.

Introducing Myself and Royal Flush Asia

I am based in Singapore, although I have connections and relations in the other side of the causeway in Malaysia.  Having said that, Royal Flush Asia aims to become the place for all poker enthusiasts throughout Asia (whether, for example, you are in Singapore, Phillipines, Hong Kong, Malaysia and even Australia and New Zealand).

I believe that, whilst many of you already know how to find out information online about poker generally, Royal Flush Asia needs to and will fill the gap in particular with respect to Asia-specific poker issues. When and where is the next Asian Poker Tour? What is the best way to buy chips in this region? Looking for friends in your neighbourhood that play?  There are so many online poker rooms, but which ones actually have people playing at 3pm GMT+8 (Most rooms are filled with US and European players, who are playing whilst we are asleep!)?

A Pan-Asia Pacific Website

One of the things I wondered about was whether to target the content in RFA for visitors from a particular country, whether it is Singapore, Malaysia or some other country.

But what I found was that we are all here, visitors to this site, bound by one common love, and that obviously is, the love for poker.

More specifically, Texas Hold'em No Limit poker.

So I hope, in particular, that all of you are willing to drop a note to say hi to each other at our discussion forum.  We may be many hundred miles apart from each other in different countries across the Asia Pacific, but hey, we can all drop a note in English, say hi, and tell each other about our experiences in poker.

And besides, when you play online, you will all be playing in the same timezone, so you are all likely to still bump into each other in the virtual tables.  You may enjoy chatting with each other in our discussion forums, since you may see each other in the tables later.

You see, sport is an interesting thing.  In football, for example, the English Premier League is commonly appreciated by all people across Asia, speaking a multitude of languages.

As at the time of writing, your poker chip supplies in Southeaset Asia are likely to come from just one major dealer in this region, former casino manager Ken Crouse at Bluegatepoker.com.

If you are intending to join Poker Star's Asia Pacific Poker Tour (the APPT) in Macau, you will join it whether or not you stay in Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia or Vietnam.

All this led to the belief that I could provide all of you, visitors from across the Asia Pacific, one single poker centre for Asia and the Asia Pacific.  A single place to discuss poker and a single place to read about it as well.

Its All About Content

And I promise to you we have got a lot in the pipeline in terms of genuine content.  We have already arranged to repost some of the content from the old RFA website, for example, regarding the legal position of online poker in Malaysia, a review of Bluegatepoker.com's top-of-the-range clay poker chips, and organisers of poker tournaments like the APPT have even have approached us in the past to provide material for us to provide you, our readers.

In few other sites do you see that commitment in providing genuine content for poker specific to our Asia Pacific region.

To this end, I appeal to you all to do yourself the favour of signing up to our newsletter, which you see on the right-hand most column of every page on this site.  This will enable us to reach you to provide you newsletters featuring the most up-to-date information that is available on Royal Flush Asia.  In addition, the newsletter features content that you will not be able to find from the website itself.

You can also expect content on Asian Poker Tours (APT) and Asia Pacific Poker Tours.

The Flagship Freeroll, From Royal Flush Asia

As just one example of the benefits of the newsletter, we are in discussions with a couple of online poker rooms to use their software to run online sit-and-go tournaments, just for readers of Royal Flush Asia.  The great thing about these tournaments is that we can give away free prize money for winners of the tournaments .

Imagine that: play against, say, 20 opponents, come out tops on that, and you would win USD200??? For no buy-in at all??

There are much more details about this to follow, but to be notified when this tournament will take place, please do do yourself the favour of signing up for our newsletter.

What About The Advertisers and Competitiors

On the other hand, for the rest of you readers who have visited us in your capacity of advertisers, do contact us if you wish to discuss further about This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

For competitors.. at RFA we do not really look at too many of the other websites out there as competitors.  RFA is positioned to focus on Asia and the Asia Pacific, which is a different niche compared to those focussing on Malaysia, Singapore, the Phillipines, Japan, Korea, or Australia.  We are focussing on things, Asia Pacific wide because we believe there are many issues that are of interest to people across this region.  So do This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it to say hi, whether you run a discussion forum, a website, a blog or the like.  We already have good relations with a number of sites, which we hope to do things together.

More About Me

You see, when any of you do contact me or RFA, you'll get people that are passionate and love the game.  I play online often at the multitude of poker sites that are available today, like Titan or Poker Stars or Full Tilt Poker.  I've read many of the books, seen many of the online videos about poker and read many articles and blogs online regarding the development of the game.

There's nothing I love more than to spend an afternoon or evening just playing live poker, for various reasons like meeting new people, pitting your wits against them, and having a laugh whilst we are at it.

Discuss This Article

So that's all about me and RFA. Every so often I'll drop a note to say hi to all of you at the discussion forums.  In the meantime, Heart7Club2 does most of the great work in putting the site together and posting all the great content about poker that you see online.

I hope you find this site as informative and useable as I would like you to find it to be. If you have any suggestion or content about Asian Poker Tour that you would like to see it put up on RFA, send me an email and I will look through it.

All I ask in return is for introducing myself to you is for each and everyone of you to drop a note at the discussion forum , just say hi, introduce yourself and tell us where you play poker and why you like it so much. If you would like to know more about me or the forum, you can post it there as well.

Thanks much, and hope to see you soon at the tables!
