Pokerstars have opened their very own "Pokerstars Macau" at the Grand Waldo.

The Grand Lisboa casino offers 24 hour live poker on the 2nd floor at $10/$20 and $25/$50 levels (max buy ins are $2000 and $5000 respectively). They are trying to get a $50/$100 game going with max buy in $20000. If you are interested you can put your name down and they will start a table if there are enough players. Rake is 5%, capped at 5 BBs. While this might be a bit steep, these games are perfectly beatable for anyone with even a cursory knowledge of the game. This is a perfect place for beginners to build your bankroll while honing your skills and improving your game.

The Grand Waldo casino on the Cotai Strip (that's where the Venetian is) has a better poker room, more professional staff, and better tables. You'd expect as much, as the place is run by PokerStars. However you don't get as many players there as Grand Lisboa probably because of its location. The Waldo offers $10/$20, $25/$50, $50/$100, and on weekends there are $1000 tournaments as well as a big $200/$400 cash game. While the level of play is generally the same as at Grand Lisboa, the supply of donks is far fewer and so you might find your table breaking up after a few hours of play.

Poker is a very new thing in Macau. It must have only started this year actually. So you may have just missed the greatest thing to have landed in Macau

There is also a new room which has opened up at the Galaxy.

It has 4 or 5 tables, and the guys who run it are nice fellows - check it out
